The MS960 Baumalight brush mulcher is a 60” heavy duty bush mulcher with a 75” Path width and it has turned into a very popular model for mulching with average to large skidsteers. The 900 Series teeth are available in either Double Carbide Tipped Ripper or Single Blade Planer style. The carbide Ripper tooth is the good general use tooth for mulching with lots of ground contact, if there are not many stones then the Planer tooth is a little bit more efficient. The 900 series skidsteer mulchers also come with a larger pressure gauge which is very handy to watch and see how close you are to maximum pressure; once you start blowing over relief the mulcher becomes very unproductive so you do want to keep an eye on the pressure. Operating a Brush Mulcher from a skid steer is probably the most comfortable way for vegetation management as your work is directly in front of you and new skidsteers are very operator comfort focused.
The MS960 is available with a variable two-speed motor option to maximize the rotor speed and torque to account for changing mulching material
The standard bent axis piston motors make the most use of your hydraulic flow and pressure for your brush clearing needs. The rear of the unit is guarded by a 3/8” thick chain curtain so standing brush enters and mulched debris exits. If a fence wire is caught during the mulching process , it can damage the unit by slipping over to the edge of the rotor and get wrapped on the shaft, so wire protection kit is provided to safeguard the rotor and the shaft. Our powder coat finish is much tougher than conventional paint to stand up to the rigors of mulching and helps prevent rusting. To improve the weight management of the brush mulchers, the rotor is provided closer to the carrier.
See our brush cutting size chart to see what limb size this heavy duty skidsteer mounted forestry mulcher can handle. To verify motor options for maximum brush cutting sizes, you can visit the chart below.

The integrated brush bar helps control the brush and bend taller brush for easier mulching.
These two position skid shoes allow you to adjust the cutting height for optimal clearing performance.
Baumalight hoses are sleeved for the operator and hose protection. A pivoting arm is also standard with a greaseable pin keeping the slack out of the way which protects the hoses from dangerous pinching and strain.
The 700 Series tooth utilizes the Cup and Cone mount, which is machined into the holder and forged into the teeth. Engineered to take all the strain off the mounting bolt and eliminating shearing forces, these carbide teeth are bolted in place.
Baumalight gives you the option to change out the ripper teeth for the planer style for a sharper bite with a smoother cut, but these teeth are more vulnerable to damage from rocks. Ripper teeth handle rocks much better, so Planer teeth are only recommended for cutting applications where efficiency is more important than tooth life.
These heavy-duty tooth holders resist bending and keep you working longer.
For smoother mulching, the spiral tool pattern allows one tooth to engage at a time.
The relief valve protects the motor and the hydraulic system from pressure spikes. When an obstacle is hit the relief valves open and relieves the pressure.
Large PSI pressure gauge for maintaining the optimal flow that gives you a clear indication of the most efficient brush mulching performance.
A heavy duty reinforced belt delivers the force from the gear box to the rotor. This offers protection from the shocks inherent in mulching.
Protective steel cover that prevents damage from wire fencing.
The rear of the unit is guarded by a chain curtain so standing brush enters and mulched debris exits.
Heavy duty frame with T1 alloy tool steel sheet metal for all the main areas. Powder coated frame with multiple anti-slip pads to give you secure footing for ease of entry and exit from your cab.
Our powder coat finish is much tougher than conventional paint to stand up to the rigors of mulching and helps prevent rusting.
Our industry leading bent axis piston motors make the most use of your hydraulic flow and pressure for your brush clearing needs.
Couplers must be ordered separately as we do not supply hydraulic couplers with product due to the variety carrier specifications. Click the link below.
For ease of entry and exit from the cab an anti-slip strip gives sure footing.
For your convenience Baumalight has Developed a PSI Flow and Pressure database with over 1000 different carrier models to help you decide the best Baumalight model for your machine.
Baumalight mulchers use an overhung load adapter which is designed with tapered roller bearings to stand up to the rigors of heavy mulching.

Save time by easily replacing the AR400 steel wear plates on the MS960 without needing to remove the rotor.
When push comes to shove, the integrated push bar helps control
Built into the pusher bar, the directional felling hook will directionally control wayward trees, sprawling clumps and low hanging limbs.
Adjustable skid shoes allow the operator to adjust the cutting height for optimal clearing performance.
The MS960’s frame is angled so that you can roll back the Brushy Mulcher, pulling back the pusher bar so that you can fully engage the mulching head. This allows the operator to use the mulching head to fell standing trees.
Take full advantage of the forward curl and roll back of the MS960 without risking expensive damage to the hoses. Unique to the Baumalight Brush Mulcher, the spring loaded hose support prevents the hoses from falling into harm’s way during forward curl.
The new curved host bracket provides better support of the hose while reducing the risk of pinching or chafing.
Baumalight hoses are sleeved for the operator and hose protection. A pivoting arm is also standard with a greasable pin keeping the slack out of the way which protects the hoses from dangerous pinching and strain.
To accomodate for different skidsteers that have the couplers on different sides, the MS960's hose support is positioned close to the centre of the mulching head and has an adjustable hose.
The adjustable belt tensioner ensures the proper tension of your belts, with no extra idler wheel that could wear out. Simply loosen the bolts and raise the motor mount to tighten the belt.
To maximize the rotor speed and torque to account for changing mulching material, the MS960 is available with a variable two-speed motor option.
Our industry leading bent axis piston motors make the most use of your hydraulic flow and pressure for your brush clearing needs.
Large PSI pressure guage for maintaining the optimal flow that gives you a clear indication of the most efficient brush mulching performance.
To prevent pressure relief activation on the motor seal, the MS960 comes with a case drain line and a vent to atmosphere relief valve. In the event there is a spike in pressure in your hydraulic lines, the case drain will relieve the pressure and drain it back into the return line and back to the tank. If the connection of the case drain (third line) is missed or if the line is blocked, then the case drain will vent to notify you. A properly installed case drain protected by a vent to atmosphere relief valve will save the work of replacing your shaft seal and save you from down time of unexpected maintenance. To learn more CLICK HERE about the case drain line.
If you are mulching and you catch some old fence wire, it can really cause damage to the unit if the wire slips over the edge of the rotor and gets wrapped around the shaft. The wire can get bunched against the bearings, causing major damage. Our wire protection kit contains a welded raised area on the end of the rotor that protects the shaft and prevents wire from getting in.
The rear of the unit is guarded by a 3/8” thick chain curtain so standing brush enters and mulched debris exits.
Now completely redesigned for the 900 series Brush Mulcher, the heavy duty steel frame is constructed with T1 alloy tool steel sheet metal.
Also redesigned for the 900 Series Brush Mulcher, the skidsteer plate is constructed with heavy duty steel with lots of gusseting and reinforcements.
Our powder coat finish is much tougher than conventional paint to stand up to the rigors of mulching and helps prevent rusting.
The powder coated frame has multiple anti-slip pads and laser cut steps, giving the operator a secure footing for easy entry and exit from the cab.
All MS960 Brush Mulchers come with a free set of 6 replacement teeth. These replacement teeth can be convenienty stored in the enclosed spare tool compartment.
The improved design of the MS960 mulcher head now allows the operator better visibility to the area you are mulching.
To improve the weight management of the Brush Mulcher, the MS960 is now designed with the rotor closer to the carrier. This unique design feature allows for smaller carriers to be able to manage a larger mulcher.
Reduce your regular maintenance time by easily greasing the bearings on the MS960 from outside the frame. No tools required.
