The S18 skid steer stump grinder is designed ruggedly with simple operation in mind, with no required electrical connection. The simple direct flow hydraulic drive is designed to provide the best torque and RPM to the cutting head as no flow is diverted to a swing cylinder. The S18 Baumalight stump grinder is offered with three motor options to best match your flow, be sure to check out the Stump Cutting Times charts below to see how fast you can grind stumps with the flow of your skidsteer. The unique positioning of the rotor allows the operator an excellent view of the grinding action and the heavy duty fixed deflector safely directs the flow of debris. The massive ¾" thick steel rotor provides the back bone for the Stump Grinder cutting system. It’s the anchor for the carbide tipped teeth. For smooth operation it’s important that the rotor remains solid, with no flexing. The rugged rotor also provides the Stump Grinder with the extra momentum needed when the grinding is tough, making sure the Stump Grinder can power through the hardest stumps.
The Stump grinder’s carbide teeth extend a full 1-¼ inches from the rotor. This prevents chips and mulch from getting plugged. More chip clearing produces smoother operation and reduces heat build-up that can damage the rotor and cause premature tooth failure. The high number of teeth means that each tooth needs to do less work. Each of the Stump Grinders teeth only need to make a small cut, because the work is shared by more of our rugged teeth they last longer and usually only require 2 or 3 replacements at a time. The bolt-on designed teeth allow for straightforward replacement. A S18 with a motor of S450 having a PSI of 2500 can cut a stump of 24 inches in 60 mins at 12 GPM, whereas the same motor parameter and increased PSI of 3000 can cut a stump of 24 inches in 50 mins at 12 GPM. If the GPM is increased to 15, the time taken will be reduced.
By a quick pull of two pins a mini skidsteer plate can be put on as well.

Like the finest saw blades, the cutting teeth on Stump Blasters are carbide tipped. This incredibly hard material ensures reliable cutting performance. When grinding stumps, buried hazards are inevitable; gravel, stones even metal posts are not uncommon to “find”. Our carbide teeth are designed to stand up to this abuse and keep on blasting stumps to dust.
All S18 Stump Grinder comes with a free set of 6 replacement teeth. These replacement teeth are conveniently shipped in a robust enclosed compartment on top of the frame.
